About
Disinformation & Democracy is an expert-based conference focusing on the societal fight against disinformation and the exchange of experience in the field of strategic communication, policy making and online & offline security in Slovakia as well as internationally.
The conference seeks to address the critical issue of disinformation and its impact on democratic processes. It will bring together experts from the public sector, private industry, academia, and non-governmental organizations to discuss strategies for combating disinformation and enhancing strategic communication.
We have decided to connect our security field with the current and future topic of Artificial Intelligence. Rumor has it that AI disturbs information space, threatens democracy, will cause job losses etc.
All this could be true, but we at Adapt want to destigmatize Artificial Intelligence that fights for a better world of tomorrow. It can be difficult to see the positive practical implications of AI in a world full of evil algorithms and AI misuse.
The Disinformation & Democracy 2024 – Meeting the AI Challenge conference aims to change this perspective.
Within three consecutive years we have hosted:
- the Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs & other state secretaries
- the director of the Information & Documentation Centre NATO
- the Slovak Army officers
